Day 1

Set off on foot through the basin ofWilpena Pound before walking onto Arkabas private property.The distance today is 12 kilometres over 4 to 5 hours 

Overnight signature camp at Blacks Gap.

Day 2

Spot Big Red and Western Grey kangaroos and emus crossing strands of Cypress trees to the foothills of the Elder Range. The distance today is 10 to 14 kilometres over 6 to 7 hours.

Overnight at signature Elder camp.

Day 3

Traverse mature Mallee forests and the Red Range before crossing ancient dry creek beds, lined with River Red Gums. The distance today is 10 to 14 kilometres over 6 to 7 hours.

Overnight at restored 1850s Arkaba Homestead.

Day 4

Relax in the library or by the pool, or take an optional walk to the Arkaba Woolshed, 3 to 6 kilometres over 2 hours.

How To Get There

A five hour drive from Adelaide to Arkaba. We can arrange Avis car hire for you (extra charge).

Arkaba Walk departs every Thursday, with secondary

departures on Sunday between Apr – May, Aug – Oct 17 Extra charge applies.
